Privacy

Short answer: In this research version of Lumence, we don't ask who you are. Your answers are stored as broad ranges linked to a randomly generated research ID, and those research records are deleted after 180 days.

What we don't ask for

In this research version of Lumence, we don't ask for your name, email, phone number, exact address, Social Security number, date of birth or payment details. Nobody will call or email you, because we don't ask how.

What we store

All of this is linked to a randomly generated research ID, not to your name or contact information. We do not store IP addresses or browser user-agent strings in our research database, and we do not use device fingerprinting, advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

The research ID and your browser

The browser session identifier is temporary: it is kept in your browser's session storage and disappears when you close the tab. If you come back later, you start a new, unconnected session. Anonymized research records may be retained for analysis, as described below.

How long we keep research records

Research records (your answer ranges and the steps you took) are automatically deleted 180 days after your visit. Before then, they are used only in aggregate, for example to compare how many people finished the conversational version versus the form.

The conversational (AI) version

Lumence does not retain raw chat transcripts in its research database. When the conversational version is used, text may be processed temporarily by our AI service provider to interpret the response. We store only the resulting structured answer category. Messages that look like they contain personal details, such as an email address, phone number or exact date, are blocked before they reach the AI service provider. Please don't type personal details.

Service providers

Like any website, Lumence relies on service providers to host the site, run its database and, for the conversational version, interpret typed answers with an AI model. These providers process data only to deliver those services. Hosting and network providers may briefly process technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse; Lumence does not copy that data into its research records.

What we don't do

Changes

This page describes the current research version. If Lumence ever offers insurance, it will need to collect information that this version does not, and this page will change before that happens.
